Personnel Licensing Working Group News Update
(September-08-06) September 8 2006: The Airworthiness Sub Committee of the RASOS Personnel Licensing Working Group (PEL WG) is meeting in St. Lucia September 12 to 14 2006. Their agenda includes completion of the question bank for the AME examinations, in particular the avionics portions of the examinations, discussion of joint RASOS team inspections of foreign repair stations, RASOS common forms for those inspections, joint RASOS certification inspections of foreign operators, and recognition of Approved Airworthiness Training Organizations. Future activity of the PEL WG includes RASOS representatives working with the FAA in Oklahoma City on the AME and avionics examinations and on the written helicopter pilot written examinations. Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago and OECS now have their computerized written examination equipment in place. Jamaica will have its equipment activated by the FAA project team in November 2006.
The updated computerized personnel license delivery system is now undergoing tests at the JCAA and it is hoped that the software will be ready for sharing with other RASOS Members by the end of November 2006. |
