Fourth RASOS Regulations Standing Committee Meeting May 21-25 Barbados

The Fourth RASOS Regulations Standing Committee Meeting will be held May 21-25 at the Blue Horizon Hotel, Christchurch, Barbados. The very busy agenda includes several regulations writing workshops to develop regional "model" regulations for safety oversight of aerodromes, air traffic services, aeronautical information services, aeronautical meteorological services, aeronautical navigation and telecommunication services, search and rescue services, aeronautical charting, aeronautical weights and measures. Legal and technical experts from each RASOS Member will be present and the FAA may also attend. RASOS has assisted the FAA in development of the draft ICAO Annex 13 MCAR and looks forward to being of assistance in any new MCAR development.

The results expected from the meeting and workshops are "model regulations" that may be used by RASOS Member States in their ongoing efforts to harmonize their approaches to safety oversight in these aeronautical areas and to further their compliance with the new ICAO requirements for safety oversight and prepare for the ICAO USOAP team visits.
